Re: Infringements of STAR TREK Copyrights and Trademarks

Dear Mr. Henderson:

I write as attorney for Paramount Pictures Corporation ("Paramount").

As you are, no doubt, aware, [1] Paramount owns all of the rights to the television series entitled STAR TREK, STAR TREK:  THE NEXT GENERATION, STAR TREK:  DEEP SPACE NINE, STAR TREK:  VOYAGER, and all theatrical releases relating thereto including the upcoming [2] eighth movie in the STAR TREK motion picture series (collectively the "STAR TREK Properties"). These rights are protected by numerous copyrights trademarks in [3] both the programs themselves and the characters, sets, and other elements appearing in those programs.

1. too many commas!
2. Missing comma after "thereto"
3. Missing comma between "copyrights" and "trademarks"

We have recently learned that you have posted [4] various elements of the STAR TREK Properties on your site at www.bradley.edu/campusorg/psiphi/mov. [5,6,7] For example, we refer to your posting entitled "Synopsis of "Star Trek: First Contact"  [8,9] (the "Synopsis"), as well as various photographs of STAR TREK elements. Your posting of these items is an infringement of Paramount's rights in the STAR TREK Properties.

4. "posted"? This isn't Usenet, this is the Web
5. the "http:" and "//" specifiers are missing
6. the "/" at the end of the URL is missing
7. why is "edu/campusorg/psiphi/mov" in italics while "www.bradley." is not?
8: "posting"? Again, this isn't Usenet]
9: There's a missing quote mark: "Synopsis of "Star Trek: First Contact" ["]

Based upon the foregoing, we hereby demand that your confirm [10] to us in writing within ten days of receipt of this letter that:  (i) you have removed all infringing materials from your site, including the aforementioned Synopsis and all STAR TREK photographs; and (ii) you will refrain from posting any similar infringing material on the Internet or any other on-line service in the future. [11,12]

10. "that your confirm" should be "that you confirm"
11. "Internet" should not be capitalized any more than "computer" should
12. That thing with "posting" again

The foregoing is without waiver of any and all rights of Paramount Pictures Corporation, all of which are expressly reserved herein. [13]

13. Huh?

Very truly yours, [14]
