Dr. Shotick's bio:

It is a personal and professional joy to help new students identify their interests, values, and abilities while selecting a major. The AEP 100 course is a great way for me to get to know each and every one of you and advise you in your decision process. I enjoy the opportunities to advise students on how to be engaged in both their academics and in the many clubs and organizations.  You will find me at Orientation programs, Parents Weeknds, or attending one of the many amazing theater productions here on campus.   My husband and I love to snow ski with our sons and scuba dive (which is hard to do in Peoria!). So while we enjoy traveling to new locations it's always great to get back to the Hilltop!

As the Director of Orientation & Advisement, I have been working at Bradley since 2000. I am from Buffalo, NY-home of the original chicken wing (not Buffalo Wing!) lake-effect snow blizzards and the 4-time American Football Conference Champion Buffalo Bills! If you are a new student or family member, I look forward to seeing you at one of our 13 summer orientation sessions. I am also in charge of the University Program which the Academic Exploration Program falls under. GO BRAVES! GO BILLS!

I have been involved in the Academic Exploration Program as an instructor and advisor since 1999, and now I oversee the entire program. I am an alumnus of Bradley University, and I get a great deal of satisfaction from helping students figure out what they want to pursue as a major!  In my spare time, I enjoy running (I have completed two half-marathons!), going to the theatre, watching the Cubs, and taking my two children to the Bradley basketball games to cheer on the Braves!

As the Assistant Director of Orientation and Advisement, I am here to make sure that you are aware of the resources available on campus to help ensure your success.  I have spent years working with students in their first year of college and love helping them through the transition.  I am a native of the St. Louis area (Go Cardinals!) and am truly enjoying my time at Bradley and in Peoria.  I enjoy traveling, campus, and going to concerts in my spare time.  Congratulations on your decision to attend Bradley, and I can't wait to meet all of you!

Ms. Dutton's bio:

As the undergraduate advisor for unclassified engineering students and UNV EGT majors I help students decide which engineering field is the right fit for them.  I enjoy the opportunity to help students decide on a career path because I myself understand the struggles of choosing a major.  My experience in education has ranged from teaching ESL, writing, GED, and my favorite subject to teach is study skills.  I enjoy working with students on time management, goal setting, developing note-taking skills, research skills, and overall teaching students how to be a successful student. I have spent the last several years working in Texas and am very happy to be back in my hometown and to bundle up for the cold winters and cheer on the Bradley Braves!
