Kaizer hosts “Jazz from Studio 47”

Local jazz legend by night, professor of music by day, Ed Kaizer hosts “Jazz from Studio 47” on Tuesday evenings in July. The half-hour television program features the WTVP studio set as a café with a live audience and will bring top jazz performers to perform new variations of jazz classics.

Featured performers include:

July 17: Dave Hoffmann, trumpet; Ed Kaizer Jr., bass; Bob McEntyre, drums; Ed Kaizer, piano; Todd Kelly, trumpet.

July 24: Chip McNeill, saxophone; John Wegge, bass; Bob McEntyre, drums; Ed Kaizer, piano; Janet Kaizer, piano; Peter Larsen, clarinet; The New Orleaners; and a Dixieland group from Denmark

July 31: Preston Jackson, guitar; Tim Brickner, bass; Dave Sherrard, drums; Ed Kaizer, piano; John Cook, trumpet; Jennifer Cook, vocalist

Performances air on WTVP Channel 47 and are open to the public. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or reserved in advance from WTVP by calling 309-677-4747.
