Alums earn awards for promoting BU athletics

Three alumni received awards from the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) for their efforts in promoting Bradley athletics.

The women’s basketball season ticket campaign, organized by MARY LOU JANSSEN ’07, associate director of marketing, received a silver award. The “MVC Shuffle” video, produced by radio play-by-play announcer DAVE SNELL ’76, received a bronze award for electronic production. The men’s basketball players’ spoof of the 1985 Chicago Bears “Super Bowl Shuffle” became a popular YouTube video, generating nearly 39,000 views. The team’s pregame introduction video also received a bronze award. To view both videos, visit youtube.com/user/BradleyAthletics.

First-year creative and Web services intern DEREK ODDO ’09 was awarded a grant to attend the NACMA convention last summer. Oddo produced graphic design work for the Department of Athletics in 2008-09, including media guide covers, schedule posters, schedule cards, billboard designs, Web graphics, game program covers, and Carver Arena scorer’s table signage. He also assisted in the production of the weekly Web show, Inside Bradley Athletics.
