General JOHN SHALIKASHVILI ’58 HON ’94 is leading a fundraising campaign for the American Lake Veterans Golf Course in Lakeland, Wash. The golf course was opened in 1950 as a rehabilitation facility for injured veterans. Gen. Shalikashvili was among the veterans spotlighted in a piece about the golf course on NBC Nightly News’ “Making a Difference” segment in July.

Last spring, he received the Distinguished Achievement Award from Theta Chi. The award recognizes members who have made significant contributions to the United States and American life. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff during the Clinton Administration, he is the first living recipient of the fraternity award. Visit bradley.edu/hilltopics/go/shali to watch the NBC video.
