Accounting society goes gold again

Beta Alpha Psi members accepted the 2010 Gold Chapter Award in San Jose, California. Front row: GINA CHICKERILLO ’10, SARAH RAYFIELD ’11; back row: TYLER PETERSON ’11, JUSTIN KNOBELOCH ’11, MARK SCHNAKE ’11, and ARJUN TRIPATHI ’11.

Bradley’s accounting honor society, Beta Alpha Psi (BAP), has been named one of 15 Gold Chapters by KPMG for the second year in a row. A group of six students, along with Dr. Simon Petravick, professor of accounting, accepted the award at the 2010 annual BAP meeting, held in San Jose, Calif. KPMG is a global network of professional services firms providing audit, tax, and advisory services. This is the second year KPMG has awarded Gold Chapters.

BAP members SARAH RAYFIELD ’11, JUSTIN KNOBELOCH ’11, and TYLER PETERSON ’11 also competed in the national Best Practices competition at the meeting. “They did a good job and we learned a lot from watching the other schools and the judges,” said Petravick. “We hope we can continue our success next year and thereafter.” The team won the Midwest Regional competition last spring.

GINA CHICKERILLO ’10, MARK SCHNAKE ’11, and ARJUN TRIPATHI ’11 made a presentation about fundraising at the meeting, as well. The group also participated in a park beautification project for the San Jose Park District.
