Is law school for you?
Bradley’s Pre-Law Center was busy last semester with several panel discussions and networking activities. The Center held two panel discussions in March, the first featuring four alumni who talked about life in law school. ROBBIE CLARK ’09, KATIE BATES EPHGRAVE ’08, KEITH MUNDRICK ’09, and ERIKA NELSON ’07 participated in the panel. They discussed preparation for law school as undergrads, the academic challenges of law school, and the job market for new lawyers. Clark attends law school at the University of Iowa, Ephgrave attends the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, Mundrick is at Indiana University in Indianapolis, and Nelson attends Valparaiso. Another discussion a few days later featured graduating seniors who are headed to law school in the fall. CORRIE BRITE ’10, JESSICA FABISZAK ’10, MELISSA HOFFMAN ’10, RYAN HIDDEN ’10, EDDIE PALL ’10, VIN RIZZO ’10, PATRICK SULLIVAN ’10, and KAYLEIGH THOMAS ’10 shared their experiences preparing for law school. The Pre-Law Center also hosted WES BLUMENSHINE ’83. An associate general counsel for Caterpillar, Blumenshine talked about working as an in-house lawyer in a corporate law career. In May, a legal alumni reception in St. Louis attracted judges, law students, and practicing lawyers. Judge Audrey Flessig, a member of the Bradley Parents Association Board, spoke at the event, along with Maria Vertuno, director of Bradley’s Pre-Law Center. Vertuno said most of the attendees knew each other, but had never realized their Bradley connection.
