Albatross: A True Story Of A Woman's Survival At Sea
Deborah Scaling Kiley and Meg Noonan
A 58-foot yacht owned by a dumpster king sets sail from Annapolis
to Florida. On board were five young people. They ran into a
storm near North Carolina, and the yacht went down leaving the
crew adrift in the storm-tossed Atlantic in a rubber dinghy
surrounded by sharks. They endured for several days without food
and water but then two of the men became delirious and went
overboard, and a woman died from her injuries. Only two were
left alive when a Russian freighter picked them up after six days
adrift. Deborah Scaling tells about her harrowing ordeal.
