In 1945 Hosanna Clark, newly arrived from the farm fields of Texas,
befriends Holocaust survivor Gilda Rosenstein and opens the door to a

life for them both. The two become partners and friends in a cosmetics
business. Then Gilda disappears, taking all the assets with her. Hosanna
is left broke and betrayed. After Hosanna dies, her daughter Matriece
takes on a mission to collect her mother's debt.
