Prospect of Death
Margaret Duffy
Police inspectors who drink and drive usually forfeit their jobs. That is
why Chief Inspector James Carrick cannot understand why he would have
driven away from his hotel after the Burns Night Supper. To save his job
and his sanity, he turns to his lover -- private detective Joanna
Mackenzie -- and chance acquaintance Patrick Gillard to help him find out
what really happened that night. Before his investigation is over,
Carrick will not only discover the true events of that evening, but solve
two murders and identify members of a police corruption ring.
