"L" Is For Lawless
Sue Grafton
Kinsey Millhone agrees to help the family of her late neighbor, John Lee,
try to get enough money to pay for his burial from the Veteran's
Administration. But apparently, John Lee was not what he seemed to be.
A break-in at Lee's house and a suspicious duffel bag that Kinsey sees
being carried out of the house send Kinsey on a spur of the moment
flight to Palm Beach in pursuit of the bag. Before she gets to the
bottom of things, Kinsey will masquerade as a hotel maid, lead a treasure
raid on a tomb, be a bridesmaid in a wedding, and end up with a bad
concussion and a zero-balance bank statement.
