Hunting Badger
Tony Hillerman
Hunting Badger is played out against the unhappy memories of an actual
1998 manhunt that produced canyon country legends of FBI bungling, but no
arrests. The Federal Bureau of Ineptitude takes charge of this fictional
hunt for three cop killers with their swarm of agents and high-tech
equipment. Leaphorn sees a pattern that intrigues him in the Indian legend
of a Ute hero, while Chee finds a fatal flaw in the "official" theory of
the crime.
