The Annual Spring Forum, sponsored by the Office for Teaching Excellence and Faculty Development, offers discussions of a variety of topics for faculty that are designed to provide useful tools and strategies to enhance teaching and student learning.  This year’s program will discuss engaging students in General Education courses and using Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) to inform teaching.  Plans call for morning discussions, a luncheon, and a choice of two afternoon breakout sessions to attend on a variety of topics.

The Importance of Analyzing Student Assessments:  What are we Assessing, and What are Students Learning?, 250 Bradley Hall

Writing an effective assessment is a daunting task, to say nothing of analyzing the information available from the assessment.  This discussion will focus on ways to determine what items we are in fact measuring with our assessments, and what student responses to our assessments tell us about student learning and curriculum design.
