Safety Alert
April 19, 2012

At approximately 10:46 p.m. on Thursday, Peoria Police responded to a reported armed robbery at Jimmy John's in the 1100 block of West Main Street. Suspect 1 entered the restaurant, displayed a handgun, fired a shot, and took an undetermined amount of cash. Suspect 2 did not enter the restaurant. Both suspects fled. No one inside the business was injured.

Suspect 1: black male, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-2, dark complexion, wearing a dark hoody, pantyhose over his face, a light-colored T-shirt with orange letters, and dark jeans. He was armed with a silver revolver.
Suspect 2: Unknown description

Peoria Police and Bradley Police immediately responded and searched the area. No suspects were located.

UPDATE: 04/28/2012 - Peoria Police arrested the two individuals responsible for the April 19 robbery at Jimmy John's restaurant on Main St.

Bradley University police and the City of Peoria police responded to a burglary this morning at a residence near the intersection of Bradley and Glenwood avenues. During the early morning hours, an unknown person entered the residence through an open window and then removed property. No one was injured. An investigation is continuing.

All students and staff are reminded that despite the warm weather, they should keep their residence windows and doors locked.

March 7, 2012

Bradley University police and the City of Peoria police responded to an armed robbery at approximately 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, in a parking lot in the 800 block of Moss Avenue. A female student was approached by a male suspect who displayed a pocket knife and demanded money and jewelry.   The victim turned over her money and jewelry and then notified the Bradley University police a short time later.  The victim was not injured.  Bradley and Peoria police searched the area but did not apprehend any suspects. An investigation is continuing.

The suspect is described as a male, 5’7” to 6’0”, wearing dark clothing with a large hoodie covering his face.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. Peoria Police responded to a reported armed robbery at a business in the 800 block of west Main Street. The suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun, pushed the clerk and took an undetermined amount of cigarettes. The suspect fled west on Main Street. The suspect is described as a male, wearing a black coat and a black ski mask.

A male not affiliated with Bradley University reported to Peoria Police this morning at approximately 5:19 that as he was walking in the 800 block of University Street he was approached by 2 black males. The male suspects were described as 5-foot-11 and about 160 pounds, and wearing dark hoodies and jeans. Both male suspects displayed handguns, pushed the victim to the ground and searched his pockets. The victim turned over an undisclosed amount of cash. The male suspects entered a maroon 4-door Cadillac Deville sedan and fled northbound on University Street. The driver of the vehicle was possibly a female. The victim was not injured.

Peoria Police and Bradley Police immediately responded and searched the area. No suspects were located.

Safety Alert
October 20, 2011

At approximately 8:00 tonight a male student was walking south on Rebecca toward Bradley Avenue when he was approached by three males. Two of the males were on BMX-style bicycles and the other male was riding on the rear foot pegs of one of the bicycles. The males demanded property from the victim and the victim refused. One of the males stated "I have a gun" and displayed a weapon. The suspects went through the victim's pockets taking money and his wallet.

The suspects were last seen fleeing west on Bradley Avenue toward Western on the bicycles. The victim described the three suspects as males in their mid-twenties wearing dark hoodies and dark pants.

The victim ran to Macmillan Hall and reported the incident.

The victim sustained no injuries.

October 5, 2011

At 1:16 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5,  a female student reported that she was the victim of a robbery. The student reported that at approximately 10 a.m., while walking northbound in the 800 block of Duryea Place, she was approached by two males who stepped in front of her and blocked her path. The suspects demanded money and unsuccessfully tried to remove the victim’s wristlet. The victim then removed $30 from the wristlet and gave it to the suspects. The suspects then ran southeast through the Duryea parking lot toward Bradley Avenue.

The victim did not sustain any injuries, and no weapons were displayed nor implied.

Suspect #1 was described as a male, black, 25-30 years old, 5’8”-5’10” tall, approximately 160 pounds, short hair, wearing a blue hat, white t-shirt, baggy jeans and black tennis shoes, with some white on them.

Suspect #2 was described as a male, black, 25-30 years old, 5’10”-6’ tall, approximately 175-185 pounds, short hair, wearing a black “Southpole” shirt and baggy blue jeans.

Bradley University police and the City of Peoria police responded to a strong-armed robbery at approximately 4 p.m. on September 29 in the 1600 block of Callendar Street. A male student was approached by another male who punched the victim and then removed his headphones. The victim was not seriously injured. Two other suspects were across the street and all three fled south. Bradley and Peoria police searched the area but did not apprehend any suspects. An investigation is continuing.

Suspect #1 is described as a male: black, 18-20 years old, 5'10", average build, short hair, wearing dark clothing and a baseball hat.

Suspect #2 is described as a male: black, 18-20 years old, bushy hair, wearing a red hoodie, baggie black pants and a baseball hat.

Suspect #3 is described as a male: black, 18-20 years old, wearing a hoodie or windbreaker-style black jacket with a white stripe down the back, black pants and a baseball hat.
