We’ve had our first snow of the season and the first wind chills in the single digits; it must be winter in Illinois. To those of you who are now living and working in a more moderate climate, you probably don’t miss the ice, snow, salt, and bone-chilling cold. PTHS forming affinity group

As Bradley University marks its 16th year of graduating students with a degree in physical therapy in 2010, the Department of Physical Therapy and Health Science announces the formation of an affinity group. Full Story >

Dominican Republic Mission Trip

This past October, Dr. Cheryl Sparks, DPT, OCS, and Dr. Dawn Hall, PT, PhD, with students Dorothy Fernandez DPT ’10 and Abigail Walk DPT ’10 traveled as part of a health care team to San Juan de la Maguana (a city three hours from Santo Domingo near the Haitian border) during fall break to provide physical therapy services.Full Story >

sAAOMPT Video Award

What started out as a class assignment last summer turned into an award-winning project for one DPT Class of 2011 group. Consisting of Mark Buettner, Joe Byrnes, Elliot Cohee, Ashlee Pierson, and Keith Scott, the group won a student American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapists (sAAOMPT) Video Award in October 2009. Update from Class of 2010

Finally, our academic career is coming to an end. We have completed our last practical exam, filled out our last class evaluation, handed in our last paper, and have begun looking for places of employment. Full Story >

Update from Class of 2011

We have just completed our fall semester of neurological rehab and teaching and learning in physical therapy. While most of our time was spent learning to apply neurological principles to treatments and honing these techniques, the teaching and learning class provided us with immeasurable experiences. We were given the opportunity to practice our teaching skills with groups of students at Bradley University and in the community. Full Story >

Update from Class of 2012

It’s hard to believe we are more than halfway finished with our first year of PT school! We made it through the rigors of orthopedics class and other schoolwork. With our first clinical rapidly approaching in January, we are excited and anxious to apply our new knowledge of evidence-based practice. Most people are staying in Illinois for their clinical, but one is traveling to Kentucky. Full Story >
