Bradley University announced the creation of a Pre-Law Center and a search for a full-time director to manage the Center.
This is the first time Bradley will have a full-time Pre-Law Center aimed at preparing students to enter law school. The center will consolidate existing resources in one location, and expand the resources devoted to pre-law services.

The Pre-Law Career Center will provide an extensive array of experiences and resources to assist students interested in a career in law as they pursue post-graduate education; help pre-law students gain entrance into law schools; and prepare students to succeed in law school.
“Bradley’s Pre-Law Center is another example of the University preparing and educating students for their future,” says President Joanne K. Glasser. “This Center, combined with Bradley’s existing comprehensive and diverse academic offerings, will provide an excellent foundation for students interested in pursing legal careers.
“We intend to make the Pre-Law Center a national leader in preparing undergraduate students to enter law school,” says President Glasser, herself an attorney.
As part of the Pre-Law Center, Bradley plans to develop new classes to introduce undergraduate students to the legal profession and to prepare more senior students for internships. As part of Bradley’s mission to provide practical, experiential learning opportunities, the Pre-Law Center, in conjunction with the Smith Career Center, will assist in securing internships for students interested in the law.
Some of the opportunities available to students through The Pre-Law Center include:
The Center will be housed in Bradley Hall.
“The new Pre-Law Center will be the focal point for expanded law school preparation activities at Bradley University,” says Dr. Larry Aspin, chairperson of the Political Science Department. “The scope and quality of the Pre-Law Center’s services and Bradley University’s outstanding academic programs will make Bradley one of the national leaders in preparing students for successful legal careers.”
The University has a long history of assisting students who go on to law school and legal careers. Last year, two graduates were accepted into Harvard Law School, and several sitting state court judges and a federal judge are Bradley alumni. This new Center will formalize and better coordinate the University’s pre-law services, thereby more effectively preparing Bradley students for careers in law.
The director of the Pre-Law Center will be charged with supervising start-up of the center and its various programs. The University intends to have a director in place this fall, and have the Center fully operational by the Spring 2009 semester. Once this position is filled, Bradley will be one of the few comprehensive pre-law centers in the nation with a full-time director.
