What can be recycled on campus?
Please DO Recycle:
- Paper: Clean paper including but not limited to office paper, notebook paper, newspaper, and receipts can be recycled in most of the blue recycling bins on campus.
- Plastics: #1 and #2 type plastics including but not limited to soda bottles, water bottles, and milk cartons can be recycled in any of the blue recycling bins on campus.
- Cans: Aluminum cans can be recycled in any of the blue recycling bins on campus.
- Cardboard: Clean cardboard can be recycled in the long brown "Cardboard Only" dumpsters located behind some buildings on campus including Geisert Hall and Burgess Hall, or in the main recycling dumpster in the 700 block of Duryea Place.
What can *not* be recycled on campus?
Please do NOT Recycle:
- NO pizza Boxes or any other dirty/greasy cardboard.
- NO condoms or personal hygene products of any kind.
- NO food waste.
- NO Styrofoam.
- NO garbage.
Other things that should be recycled, but
can't be recycled on campus at this time:
- Glass (clear, green, and brown varieties)
- Batteries, especially rechargeable batteries of the NiCd, NiMH, or Li-Ion type.
- Compact Fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and linear fluorescent tubes.
- Plastic bags, especially the big ones from the grocery store.
- Ink and Toner cartridges from printers, copiers, and fax machines.
- Hazardous or Toxic chemicals such as most "household" cleaners.
- Oil, Antifreeze, Hydraulic fluid, and other similar materials.
Glass, Newspaper, and aluminium and steel cans may also be recycled at the nearest City of Peoria recycling drop off point. The closest one to Bradley's campus is located behind the Kroger shopping center, at the corner of Sterling Ave. and Forest Hill.
