Bradley University has adopted audience response systems (clickers) available from Turning Technologies. Clickers allow the presenter to pose a question and receive audience responses simultaneously, then present the aggregated responses to the audience immediately. The response data is also saved and can be later uploaded to Sakai or further analyzed.
Research indicates that effective use of clickers increases student engagement in class, improves learning, and increases attendance. Clickers can transform a passive learning environment into an active, engaged environment that promotes critical thinking and collaborative learning. By using clickers instructors can get students in large lecture classes more engaged, help them be more attentive, help them take more responsibility for their education, and help them be excited about what they are learning.
Student support organizations and administrative offices can also use clickers to collect and share data - live - and let the data drive the discussions that follow.
Bradley has sets of clickers available for check-out.
Please contact the Instructional Technology Assistance Center if you are interested in learning more or reserving clickers.
