The Theta Xi Experience

Since 1948, The men of Theta Xi at Bradley have always been actively seeking out the best and brightest men on campus to continue the proud traditions of the Fraternity. Other than a minimum GPA of 2.25 at Bradley, the only requirements for membership are a strong sense of academic, moral and self responsibility.

Membership in Theta Xi means an experience like no other in your college life. We strive to make the most of our stays at Bradley through our excellence in academics, social and service activities outside the classroom, leadership opportunities and brothers who will be friends for life.

Membership begins with an Associate Membership peroid of no longer than 63 days. During this time Associate Members learn our history, our purpose and essential elements of Fraternity life. Associate Members are in no way subjected to mental or physical degradation or any other form of hazing commonly associated with "pledging."

Students at Bradley interested in membership are invited to meet our members and decide if Theta Xi is right for them. Contact our recruitment chairman or fill out our membership inquiry form at the bottom of this page if you'd like to visit the house or join in one of our many social activities.

So what makes a Theta Xi?

Academics:
The first great purpose of Theta Xi is academic acheivement. The reason we are all together at Bradley University is higher education, thus, a Theta Xi holds academics as his highest priority. Our scholarship program teaches our members useful study habits and rewards academic acheivement. Our house provides a living environment condusive to college students.

Does our commitment to academics show? Theta Xi has been recognized for it's academic excellence on several occasions. Most recently, Theta Xi has earned the highest all-house grade point average among all fraternities on campus for the past three semesters. Do you have your academic priorities in order?

Social:
In the hectic world of academia, a Theta Xi must balance his course load with some form of a social life. Theta Xis enjoy activities of all kind, from paintballing, climbing and hiking to sorority exchanges to movie nights to date parties and formal to parties at Club Xi.

So what's Theta Xi been up to lately? There are always plenty of social events planned on our calendar. Not to mention the random getherings among brothers that seem to magically plan themselves. Come see the fun we've had and join in on the fun to come. What are you doing this weekend?

Leadership:
In an organization that practices "the principles of democratic self government," leaders emerge to handle the chapter operations. Theta Xi provides many opportunities for leadership through our democratic structure. In the so-called "real world" that college graduates eventually enter, developed leadership skills can make the difference in career advancement. Can you afford to not have leadership experience?

Responsibility:
As its fourth purpose, Theta Xi teaches "responsibility to chapter, college, community and country." A Theta Xi must have a strong moral character and be responsible for his actions. Theta Xi's members have proven themselves to be responsible academically, socially, financially and morally.

Involvement:
Theta Xi's make their mark all around campus. The fraternity does not occupy %100 of it's members' lives. We are encouraged to explore our interests in extracurricular and recreational activities on campus and in the community.

Nationally, Theta Xi participates in two major philanthropies, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Habitat for Humanity. For recreation, we enjoy participating in Bradley's intramural sports programs, fielding teams in nearly all sport offerings. Also, most Theta Xi's are involved in other student organizations, professional greek societies and honor societies.

Brotherhood:
Brotherhood is a term that has never been easy to define with words. In analogy to the chicken-and-egg, brotherhood is formed from the culmination of the individual aspects of the organization. At the same time, it is brotherhood which holds these aspects together. Brotherhood is what makes Theta Xi greater than the sum of its parts.

So how do we know what we can't describe? Each of us has experienced brotherhood in one form or another, in a way unique to each brother. It is esoteric by nature, and it can only be experienced personally. Are you ready for it?
